Hello Friends and Family!!

It's getting really close to that time of year. The time where everyone starts pulling out the stockings, the trees are put up, and the smiles and happy givings are all about!

Here in KL they are also getting ready for Christmas. Here is just a picture of one mall that has set up for the Christmas Season:

We are so excited for Christmas! Its going to be an amazing holiday! In Malaysia they have so many things set up all around for Christmas, but in all reality more than half the people are not Christian. So it is a little bit different, but I honestly have to say this has been a very joyful week. Why? I'll tell ya :)

So when I first got to KL I was actually pretty distracted. There were massive buildings. Beautiful people everywhere. What seemed to be perfect life business people. Couples everywhere. Advertisement boards. Stores like Gucci and ect.

Don't get me wrong, before my mission this was a paradise. That's what made it so distracting. All these cool new clothes I wanted to try on, big time business people I wanted to talk to on the trains for hours on business. And with seeing young couples all around really missing dating.  I was nervous I would be too distracted. But then I really started to fall in love with the area. Here are some pictures to look at as I continue.

First off I just fell in love with the sky scrapers all around. I have always loved the food. But the highlight of my week was the people.

Something I have really been focusing on this week is the people. This week I was able to jump on the trains and with no hesitation plop down next to someone and get to hear about their life. Then I was able to testify with my whole heart about what we come and share. I would get close with these people and offer them to partake of something that's changed my life and can change theirs. If they said yes, I was happy to stay in contact. If I said no I would walk away with a smile that I had the amazing opportunity to spend some time with one of Gods children.

I really learned this week how important the 1st and 2nd great commandments really are. To love God with all your heart. Then to love your neighbors. I can truly say I love my neighbors here in KL. I want to challenge all of you to reach out to one of your neighbors or even a stranger this week. Let them see the light of Christ through you. There are plenty of  lights this Christmas season. Will you choose to be one of them?

Love,
Elder Carter
