Hello friends and family!!
I hope that everyone has had an amazing week!!
Today has been a busy P-Day for Elder Tauteoli and I. We started off this morning by running around taking care of some errands for the week. Actually, one of the things we are getting ready for is to go out and do something called the Book of Mormon experiment. It's where you go around and give people one page of the Book of Mormon and have them record their thoughts. ITS WAY COOL and I'm really excited for it.
But anyways this week was really good! We got transfer news. I will be staying in Kuching [Google Maps] and TRAINING! I'm so excited. And Elder Tauteoli will be going to KL [Kuala Lumpur] as a Zone Leader. I'm so excited for him. He'll do great there! Until we meet again!
But this week is was seriously so amazing. What I got out of this week was the importance of patience and really having a purpose in goal setting. With that also comes consistency. Have a plan that you can carry out every day. I'm learning more that goals should be something that you can control. Something that you can conquer through plans. With that, missionary work for me has been changing a little bit. I'm loving it more and more. I grow more and more each day!
For the rest of the week we had some cool things happen. First, we have been teaching our friend named Jordan! He has been incredible. He has some relatives in his family and he wants to know more for himself. It was funny, in church we were teasing him about being a missionary so I gave him my tag and back pack! He fits right in!
Also this week we were able to go to Melvyn's house!! He is someone else who we have been sharing with! It was the first time we were able to visit him in his home and it was incredible. He is working hard to get an answer for himself and he asks really good questions. Questions that really help me grow as a missionary and help him grow in his testimony. We also were able to have a really good Vietnamese meal!! Yummmm.
Then, on Friday, I was able to go to the Kuching Food Festival!! It was so big and had so many people!! I went with one of the Zone Leaders to see if it would be a good place to do the Book of Mormon experiment. That is when you go around and have people read one page of the Book of Mormon and circle things that they like. It's kind of just a fun way of going out and talking with many people. Something I'm very excited about.
But I think the big thing I got out of the week was just finding your purpose and then working from there. Our purpose as missionaries is to help others come into Christ. We want to help people see the happiness in the Gospel. Then from there go do it. I've learned that Goals must be tied to a purpose. That's how you get the most out of a goal. The coolest thing is when you have a purpose and bring it to God, with hope and faith miracles will happen.
I know that the Book of Mormon is true! I love it so much, to the point that I miss it when I forget to read it. Find for your self if it can have the same impact on you!!
I love you all so much;
Elder Carter
