Subject: A stepping stone for the higher way.
Hello Everyone!
This week was such a good week and a lot was learned. I would say it was another stepping stone to success and growth throughout the week.
I have to start off sharing a good P-Day story. This last P-Day was one of the Elder's last P-Day in the area. So we all decided to head to a place that had a burger challenge. 1 KG in 20 minutes [ Google says 1 KB = 2.2 lbs ]. We all wanted to make this P-Day one of the most memorable yet.
I will stay G- Rated, but let's just say I was down to the last bite in the challenge and then I gave the challenge back to the restaurant. Although I'm proud to say that I went until I couldn't go anymore. I didn't quit. I ran until I couldn't run anymore. Or I guess ate until I couldn't eat anymore.
Then, just shortly after the challenge, we got a phone call saying that our good friend, Elder Weatherford, was in town. He was going to be staying with us for the whole week. I was completely surprised but so happy at the same time.
It was a kind of weird week. We were kind of in a weird funk in the beginning of the week. We didn't see a whole lot of success at the beginning of the week. We kept trying to set appointments with people, and they would all come crashing through. But then, toward the end of the week, we decided we were going to go share and teach anyone that was willing to listen. It was amazing as we did. We taught many people at the end of the week. It just goes to show that going out and doing is the trick to life. I still remember when I was a little pup I would get in arguments with my mom about doing the dishes for hours when it would have just taken me 5 minutes to do it. That principle follows in a lot of things! Do we spend more time putting things off instead of just doing them?
But then this week we had a Mini Zone Conference as well as a District Conference.
It was really cool being able to have a Zone Conference. Our beloved friend and President will be leaving in 2 weeks and this was the last time most of us will see him. Thank's for everything President Rowley.
Then lastly for this week I am very excited to say I HAVE A BAPTISM COMING UP :) We have been working with the most incredible family. The Mom is from the Philippines and the Dad is Chinese. The dad and I just really hit it off and he is just incredible. We have to teach the lessons in English and Chinese and it has been SOO fun. They will be Baptized this Saturday!
I know that the gospel is true. It has blessed my life so much and it really is the secret to not only happiness and success but joy that will last forever!
Love,
Elder Carter
